Diving in Cartagena: Reefs and Shipwrecks in Barú

A diving guide for Cartagena: beginner dives on Barú’s reefs and wreck diving for certified divers.

Few people know that Cartagena is also a diving destination. The waters of Barú hide coral reefs and shipwrecks you can explore whether it's your first time or you're already a certified diver.

For beginners, recreational diving is the entry point: it includes hotel pickup, transfer to Barú, a professional instructor, gear, and a guided dive of about 45 minutes. There's also a two-dive option for those wanting more time underwater.

If you already hold an Open Water certification or higher, wreck diving takes you to explore sunken remains, a more advanced experience full of marine life.

You don't need prior experience for the beginner plan, but we do recommend not flying within 18 to 24 hours after a dive. Bring a swimsuit, a towel, and plenty of curiosity to discover the Caribbean from within.
