The dry season, from December to April, offers the sunniest days and is ideal for beaches and islands. It's also the busiest and priciest, especially around New Year and Easter week.
Between May and November the rains arrive, usually in short afternoon showers. In exchange, you'll find fewer crowds, better rates, and a calmer city. September and October tend to be the rainiest months.
